OUR LAST IN-PERSON WORKSHOP

Il Veneto in un calice

We are thrilled to invite you to join us on Thursday, October 10, for our next wine adventure… in un calice. Thanks to the enthusiasm and interest from our first wine tasting, “Il Piemonte in un calice”, with our friend and wine specialist Gianfranco D'Aniello, we’re excited to offer the next event in our series:  “Il Veneto in un calice”. This time, we will explore the exquisite wines of the Veneto region.

The Veneto region in northeastern Italy is renowned for its diverse and high-quality wine offerings. Nestled between the Alps and the Adriatic Sea, Veneto benefits from a variety of microclimates and soil types, making it a premier wine-producing area. The region is famous for its sparkling Prosecco, a crisp and refreshing white wine that has gained international acclaim. Veneto is also known for its robust red wines, such as Valpolicella, made from the indigenous Corvina grape, and Amarone, a rich, full-bodied wine produced using partially dried grapes. With its picturesque vineyards, historic wine cellars, and a tradition of winemaking that dates back centuries, Veneto offers a delightful exploration of Italian viticulture.

In this degustazione di vino (wine tasting), you will savor, in un calice (in a chalice) the distinct characteristics of Veneto’s renowned wines.
Gianfranco will share his knowledge, in Italian, by serving carefully selected wines (sparkling, white and red) that represent this region.

While tasting, you will learn Italian terms to describe wines from Veneto: equilibrato, elegante, aromatico, corposo, to name a few.

To complement the tasting, piccoli stuzzichini (small appetizers) will be served.

The workshops and the teachers pull you in via engaging and unique ways that excite adults to want to learn, and you find yourself emboldened and wanting to try to speak and communicate. And while doing so, you have gentle and gracious help and guidance from the teachers as they find a compassionate way to correct you or help you to properly pronounce things. It truly is fun and satisfying.

webinars & in-person WORKSHOPS DI CUCINA

L'ITALIANO IN CUCINA: When you walk in the door, you are transported to an Italian home kitchen. Cooking workshops are led not only by percorsoItaliano teachers, but also by cooking professionals, talented home cooks, and those passionate about food and regional cuisine. When possible, we try to invite people from Italy to highlight different regions and their local cuisines, which provides a great escape from the classroom.

Cooking workshops are open to students of all levels of Italian from beginner to advanced. We offer workshops during each session and they often sell out, so if you’d like to hear about them as soon as they’re announced, we encourage you to subscribe to our newsletter at the bottom of this page.

Webinars DI CULTURA

At percorsoItaliano, we aim to incorporate Italian culture into the language, as they are inextricably linked. Our educational, interesting, and fun culture workshops highlight this connection by offering topics that appeal to the various interests of our diverse students – architettura (architecture), musica (music), cinema (movies), e moda (fashion). We always explore the regions of Italy, with the presenter highlighting his/her origins. In addition to learning about a new subject in a setting outside the typical classroom, students also have the opportunity to improve their Italian through related vocabulary, idioms, and more, all of which will enhance their future experiences in Italy and their interactions with Italians.

Webinars DI LINGUA

These workshops allow students to become more comfortable with the language by putting grammar points into practice through drills and other exercises. Because a particular grammar point can often take a while to sink in and there may not be enough regular class time to practice, we offer language workshops to give students the opportunity to concentrate on a specific subject.
